The research undertaken by the UCM on wind energy has been carried out in coordination with the Autmatic Control Group (https://www.ehu.eus/ACG) of the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU.
The UPV/EHU team, led by Prof. Izaskun Garrido and Prof. Aitor Garrido, are experts in wave energy, specifically in OWC (Oscillating Water Column).
The coordinated research main goal is to bring together two different marine renewable technologies into one ocean energy converter device. The combined harnessing of high sea offshore wind and wave energy presents a great development potential.
